Argentina Annoyed As Englishman Goes To The Falklands.

Argentina is reported to be annoyed tonight at news that Prince William is being deployed to the Falkland Islands for training in air sea rescue. "The British are arrogant," the Argentine President told the BBC. "What all of them?" we asked. "Absolutely," the President replied, "the presence of Prince William is a provocation and an insult to Argentina. There is nothing more provocative than one rock in the North Atlantic insulting another piece of rock in the South Atlantic. We claim the Malvinas because Argentina was once part of the Spanish Empire and, after that empire fell and Argentina came into existence as a sovereign nation it was obvious that we should have got the islands - even though by then they were already part of the British Empire. The fact that we fought a war over them and lost in 1982 is neither here nor there. It is patently plain that the people of British descent now on the islands should be citizens of Argentina. The fact that there might well be oil in the surrounding waters and we would love to use ownership of the Malvinas to claim huge chunks of Antartica has nothing to do with it."
